Welcoming 2018 at Blue Goji

Posted by Kyra Constam on January 4, 2018 at 12:11 PM

Another year has come and gone at Blue Goji! As we predicted in last year’s post, 2017 was a year focused on virtual reality. While we veered away from the consumer market, we continued to produce and develop VR content. Keeping with our mission to make exercise fun, all of the VR games aim to get you moving, either with or without our Goji Play controllers. Currently on our roster, we have DinoFense, GoWings Safari, Cardio Racers, PunchBeat, and Parkour Runner, with a few more on the way this year. Throughout the year, we showcased these games at events and conferences around the country to attendees’ delight. Many people who participate in our demos have never tried VR before, while the vast majority have never never coupled VR with exercise. It was incredible to see the great reactions of people enjoying themselves using our setup. In 2018, we plan to keep the good momentum going with some brand new concepts.

Blue Goji CEO Honored by PHA

Posted by Kyra Constam on November 9, 2017 at 10:45 AM

Blue Goji is proud to be partners with the incredible organization Partnership for a Healthier America, simply known as PHA. The nonprofit was created to complement First Lady Michelle Obama's Let's Move! Initiative by: “bringing together public, private and nonprofit leaders to broker meaningful commitments and develop strategies that help ensure every child has the opportunity to grow up at a healthy weight.” This past week, on November 1st, a team of ours traveled to Washington, D.C for their annual Fit to Celebrate Gala. This event serves as a fundraiser for PHA, allowing them to continue combating childhood obesity on an everyday basis. We were particularly excited to attend this year’s event because our Co-Founder and CEO Coleman Fung was being honored with PHA’s Visionary CEO Award.

Posted by Adam Fung on October 5, 2017 at 11:31 AM

We are featuring guest blogger Adam Fung, from No Fun Games, who also happens to be a game designer at Blue Goji. After attending this year's Austin Game Conference, he took to his own blog to address a keynote that he particularly enjoyed. Besides his blog, you can catch him on Facebook and Twitter. This post was originally published here.

To open the conference, John Hanke [of] Niantic, the developers of Pokemon GO and Ingress, took the stage with Chris Plante from Polygon, to discuss the current state and future of Augmented Reality.  [In short,] the beginning of AR was a letdown.  Augmented Reality started back about four to five years ago with marker tracking, where a person would place an object/marker in view of a camera, and a digital construct would pop out of it.  Hanke asserted that this never took off because it felt gimmicky.  It lacked depth and did not connect with the general consumer.  What is different now with Pokemon Go and the advancements in AR?
